Your privacy is our default, not an option. Namu is built around on-device AI — your conversations never leave your iPhone. We do not sell, share, or monetize your personal data.
The AI Conversation and Voice Call features in Namu run entirely on your iPhone using Apple Intelligence. No conversation data, no voice recordings, and no text inputs from these features are ever transmitted to our servers or any third party. Your learning sessions are private by architecture.

Because your AI conversations and voice sessions are processed entirely on-device, we have no server-side copy to delete. This data lives only on your iPhone and is subject to your device's own storage and backup settings.
Anonymous analytics and crash reports are retained for up to 12 months and then deleted. Subscription status data is retained for the duration of your subscription and up to 90 days thereafter.
Namu is not directed to children under 9. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 9. If you believe a child under 9 has used the app and provided personal information, please contact us at brathse@namu.app and we will promptly address the situation.
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete it. Because we collect very little personal data, most of these rights apply primarily to anonymous analytics data.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the limited data we do handle. Because the core features of Namu run on-device, the primary security of your learning data is provided by your iPhone's built-in security (Face ID, Passcode, device encryption).
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our practices or for legal reasons. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, notify you through the app. Continued use of Namu after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
